Q with Jian Ghomeshi is coming next week! Canada’s top arts, culture and entertainment show is at The State Room for a very special live-audience show. Don’t miss this rare chance to catch one of radio’s hottest shows live in Salt Lake City. The show will feature live music from Tennis, the Denver, Colorado indie rockers; Booker Prize-winning author Margaret Atwood and filmmaker Jennifer Baichwal. Baichwal is the creator of the acclaimed documentaries “Manufactured Landscapes” and “Act of God”. Her new film, “Payback” is an adaptation of Atwood’s 2008 essay collection on wealth, debt, injustice and reparation and will premiere at Sundance.
Want to get politically active or at least more aware? There’s a group that meets most Fridays at Piper Down. You should come to a Drinking Liberally Pub Quiz at Piper Down. Coming January 20th, a special event with Geeks Who Drink pub quiz. Come rub elbows with local politicians and candidates, and other like-minded individuals while enjoying an exciting night of pub quiz. They’ll begin assembling teams and getting their first round of drinks around 6:30, then the quiz begins at 7pm.
